Restart operation of Sanix's Kitakyushu Incineration Disposal Plant



We would like to express our deepest apologies to members of the community, our customers and all related quarters for the great inconvenience and concerns caused by the fire that occurred at our companyfs Kitakyushu Incineration Disposal Plant (Moji-ku Kitakyushu City, Plant Manager: Nobuhiro Sato) on May 19, 2005.

Since the fire was extinguished, we have been working on restoration toward ensuring prompt resumption of safe operation of the Kitakyushu Plant under the guidance and supervision of regulatory authorities. As originally planed, the plant restored its operation on July 17.



1. Inspection from the fire authorities
  July 11 Passed inspection of Moji fire station (Obtained a permission to operate)
2. Inspection from the Environmental Bureau
    July 15 Passed inspection of the City of Kitakyushu Environmental Bureau, Control and Inspection Department, Environmental Inspection Section (Obtained a permission to accept industrial wastes)
3. Accept industrial wastes
    July 15 Accepted wastes from 16:00
4. Restore operation of the plant
  July 17 Ignited incineration system


Treating the occurrence of this accidental fire with the utmost seriousness, we are determined to further reinforce our disaster-prevention system and take all possible measures to ensure safe operation.
