Impact of a Fire at Sanix's Kitakyushu Incineration Disposal Plant on the Company's Performance
We would like to express our deepest apologies to members of the community, our customers and all related quarters for the great inconvenience and concerns caused by the fire that occurred at our company’s Kitakyushu Incineration Disposal Plant (Moji-ku Kitakyushu City, Plant Manager: Nobuhiro Sato) on May 19, 2005.
1. Expected date for the resumption of plant operation Among the facilities to be repaired, some parts of facilities, such as cranes and incinerators, need replacement. Since these replacements are custom made, we anticipate that it will take approximately two months from the date of the fire, May 19, to resume full plant operation.
2. Facilities in need of repair work The facilities in need of repair due to the fire include building facilities and two cranes in the pit area, some of the incinerators (rotary kilns) and electric facilities. The total cost of the restoration work is expected to be 370 million yen, which will be fully covered by our damage insurance.
3. Impact of the fire at the Kitakyushu Plant on company performance We estimate the impact of the fire at the Kitakyushu Plant on our consolidated performance of FY 2006 ending March 2006 as follows. (Millions of Yen)
